Lush Is Selling A Koala-Shaped Soap And Donating The Profits To Australian Animals Affected By Bushfires

Lush is known for selling some gorgeous-smelling bath and body products that are environmentally-friendly, vegan, and just overall… well, lush. Their most recent release, a koala-shaped soap called All The Wild Things, is extra special not only for its unique shape but for the fact that 100% of the profits made on sales of the product will go to Australian charities working to help animals affected by the recent bushfires.

  1. It’s a limited-edition product for the best possible cause. All The Wild Things launched on Friday, January 24, and retails for $6.95. All the money made from the soap (minus taxes) will go to the Bush Animal Fund, which works to restore animal habitats as well as rescuing animals whose homes have been destroyed/animals otherwise abandoned, hurt, or endangered.
  2. The soap is only being sold online. You can only get the koala soap on the Lush website, but there’s another catch: they’ve only made 10,000 of them, so you’ll have to be quick since they’re sure to sell out quickly. It’s available in the UK as well, so don’t worry if you’re not in the US — you can still get a hold of this!
  3. It’s technically a twist on a familiar product. Lush has always sold the Outback Mate soap, which is made from the same ingredients as All The Wild Things, just without the adorable koala shape. Ingredients include peppermint oil, lemongrass oil, and eucalyptus oil so it not only smells amazing but will make your skin squeaky clean and moisturized too.
  4. This initiative just made sense. Lush has always cared about the environment and the living things in it, so working to raise money for animals in need just seemed like a no-brainer. “As a business that cares deeply for animals, people, and the planet, responding to the bushfires in Australia with funding support to impacted wildlife is simply the right thing to do,” said Tricia Stevens, Lush’s Manager of Charitable Giving and Ethical Campaigns, in a press release. “By directing customer support from the purchase of All the Wild Things to grassroots animal rescue organizations, we will be able to have a direct impact on their lives and the environment in which they live.”
