Man’s TikTok Of Daughter Dropping Engagement Ring Into Ocean During Proposal Goes Viral

An Australian dad has gone viral after uploading a video of his young daughter dropping the engagement ring he was using to propose to his girlfriend into the ocean. Luke Aukuso, from Brisbane, wanted to include young Harpie in the big moment, but he immediately regretted that decision after the little girl opened the ring box and let the ring fall out and through the wooden slats of the pier they were standing on. Oops!

  1. Oh no! As Luke is about to pop the question, he tells his daughter to “look at mummy” as she opens the ring box, only for the jewelry to slip right out of the box and down into the water below. “Argh, oh no!” they shout as the ring falls down into the ocean below.
  2. Luke considered jumping in to look for the ring. However, the person filming the video can be heard warning him that it’s too shallow and that Luke could be injured if he were to jump in the water. However, he wasn’t about to give up.
  3. Thankfully, they managed to get the ring back. Don’t ask me how he managed it, but Stephanie, Luke’s new fiancee, revealed that he did manage to find the ring and get it on her finger. “It was a 6m jump into about 1m of water on low tide. Adrenaline hit him hard. Everything turned out perfect,” she said.
  4. This is why you don’t get kids involved in big moments like this! All’s well that ends well here, but perhaps couples in the future might be a little more careful when considering involving little ones in big moments like this!
