Meghan Trainor Apologizes After Bashing Public Schools And Saying “F**k Teachers”

Meghan Trainor has issued an apology via TikTok after she bashed public schools and proclaimed “F**k teachers!” on an episode of her podcast with brother Ryan, “Workin’ On It.” The second episode of the show, which featured an interview with Trisha Paytas, saw the trio get on the subject of school. That’s when Trainor blasted school and insisted that teachers are kinda the worst. If that shocks you, you’re not alone. Her lips were movin’ (sorry, I had to) and they really shouldn’t have been. Now, Trainor has insisted she didn’t mean it and she actually really loves teachers, as it turns out.

While Meghan Trainor’s comments about teachers have been taken slightly out of context – she was discussing how scary it is for kids to go to be in classrooms these days given the threat of school shootings and the like – what she said was completely inappropriate. “We’re homeschooling our kids,” she said on the show. “F**k that, everyone on TikTok is. They’re like, ‘This is what it’s like to have a kid in school in America. I have a bulletproof backpack.’ I was like, f**k all that.”

Things got worse when Paytas admitted she’d been bullied in school by teachers when she was a kid, to which Trainor responded: “F**k teachers, dude.” Wow, talk about harsh.

Needless to say, teachers and, you know, decent human beings took umbrage with Trainor’s comments. While there’s no doubt that there are bad teachers out there, there are even more good ones. These are the people who get paid way too little to educate and control the badass rugrats whose parents are too lazy to teach basic manners and etiquette. The fact that Trainor flippantly dismissed all teachers, who are already fighting an uphill battle in the education system, is just bleak.

Of course, we’re all meant to forgive her now that she’s apologized on TikTok. Meghan Trainor posted a video after basically being forced to speak up in which she claimed she totally didn’t mean it. In fact, she loves teachers and thinks they’re great!

Meghan Trainor doesn’t hate teachers, she swears!

@meghantrainor

@galsgotmoxie thank you for making your video and for bringing attention to this. I am sorry for being careless with my words. I LOVE teachers and I am here for you ❤️ Let’s work to make schools a better place together

“Teachers of TikTok and teachers of the world, I recently said ‘F teachers’ on the podcast and it’s not how I feel. I was fired up because we were talking about how sending your kid to school here in America is so horrific,” she said by way of explanation. “What all of us have to go through but especially teachers is not normal and not okay. I had Trisha Paytas on the podcast and I knew her history with her teachers, and I knew my husband’s history with his teachers, and I was bullied by some teachers. So in that moment I got angry and said ‘F teachers, F those specific human beings back in the day.’”

Then Trainor got all #notallteachers and insisted that she gets that there are lots of great educators out there.

“I did not mean all teachers. I love teachers, I fight for teachers. I think they have the hardest job and they are the most underpaid. They are the most unappreciated when they literally raise all of us,” she continued. “I don’t want to make excuses, I am just so sorry. I am so sorry to any teachers who I made feel bad. And I will remind myself that my words definitely could have a consequence, and I will be more careful.”

I hate to be harsh here, but how about f**k Meghan Trainor?
