People Are Building Mini ‘Chicnic’ Tables For Their Chickens And They’re So Cute

If there’s one thing I’ve learned recently, it’s that people with pet chickens really, really love them. So much so that they’ll go out of their way to dress the birds in tutus or buy them harnesses so they can safely cross the road (haha). Now some crafty foul fanatics have even decided to build their chickens mini picnic tables they’re dubbing “chicnic” tables and frankly, they’re super cute.

  1. If squirrels get picnic tables, why don’t chickens? Perhaps those who made the chicnic tables were inspired by the mini squirrel picnic table that was doing the rounds online over the past few months? Whatever the motivation, I bet the birds are happy they have a sweet little place to eat from on the warm summer days ahead.
  2. Chicnic tables have been specially adapted for optimum chicken living. The sides of the top of the picnic table are raised so that feed can sit on it without falling off, which is pretty sweet. The benches on the side of the table ensure the chickens can climb up and get to the food easily as well.
  3. If you’re handy with power tools and have some wood around, you could make one. Making a human-sized picnic table is really hard, but perhaps making a smaller chicnic table is a little easier? Obviously you’ll need the wood and the tools to get ‘er done, but if you already have a workshop in your back yard or you know someone who does, you could make one of your own.
  4. Yes, chicnic tables are silly, but that’s kind of the point. While it’s true that chickens don’t really need miniature picnic tables to eat at, the fact is that they probably appreciate them and I as a person and an animal lover definitely do. They’re so cute – how could you not love them?! Chicken picnic tables for everyone (even if you don’t have chickens)!
