An Ohio woman was mortified after discovering that her 2-year-old daughter had sent a nude photo of hers to her entire contact list. Emily Schmitt, 30, let her daughter Carsyn play with her phone to keep her occupied while she was drying the little girl’s hair. However, what she didn’t realize is that Carsyn had taken a photo of her bare butt and managed to send it out.
- Emily had no idea what happened until a coworker texted her. After a colleague sent Emily a message snarkily thanking her for the nude, she opened up Snapchat and discovered what had happened. There, she saw that all 15 people on her list had received the photo. Oh no!
- Imagine the dread she must have felt! “I pulled Snapchat up to go to the sent stuff and there was probably 15 people that she had snapped that morning that I didn’t. It’s people I don’t talk to all the time. I was like, ‘Oh, there’s the guy I went to college with who had a crush on me,’ and, ‘Oh, there’s a past client of mine,’ ‘There’s an old co-worker,'” Emily recalled. “I didn’t know it went to everybody. I immediately responded to everybody and some responded back to say the picture they got was the ceiling or a sideways picture of a kid’s foot.”
- At least the photo only went to her Snapchat contacts! Emily was able to laugh at the rather unfortunate event that took place because at least her Snapchat contacts were people who she knew well. “Everybody is laughing. I immediately posted it to Snapchat just because I wanted to apologize so everyone knew what happened if they got it,” she said. “99% of people are bursting out laughing because they know it could happen to them. Other people are sharing stories about how their toddler went on Facebook Live while they were naked. It’s not just me.”
- Something tells me she’ll be a bit more careful with her phone in the future! At least here’s hoping!
