‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ Version Of Operation Makes The Classic Game Even Better

If you loved playing board games growing up, chances are you played Operation once or twice. One of the most classic and unique board game experiences, Operation asked you to remove plastic organs from an injured man and “shocked” you with a buzzer sound when you touched the sides. It was super silly but tons of fun—and now that there’s a Nightmare Before Christmas version of Operation, it’s even better.

  1. It marks The Nightmare Before Christmas‘ 25th anniversary. It’s hard to believe that the classic Tim Burton film came out all the way back in 1993! However, the good thing is that with these milestone anniversaries come cool merchandise opportunities, and the themed Operation game is just one of them.
  2. You get to operate on Oogie Boogie. Oogie Boogie’s stuffing is always falling out anyway, so it’s not a far leap to imagine taking other stuff out of him—he’s your ideal patient! You get to remove things like a snake, spider, dice, worms, needle & thread, roulette wheel, card deck, keys, bones, scorpion, bat and bug. It’s awesome!
  3. It only takes half an hour to play. If you’re like me, chances are you don’t want to spend hours on end trying to get through one round of a board game (sorry, Monopoly). Thankfully, The Nightmare Before Christmas Operation game only takes 30 minutes to play. Basically, if you have a short attention span, this is the game for you.
  4. People of all ages can join in on the fun. You only need one player for this game, though it’s pretty sad to think of someone sitting there playing alone. However, regardless of how many players you have, they only need to be 6 years old at minimum to get in on it. In other words, it’s great to play with the kids and the adults in your life. Everyone will enjoy it!
