Adult film star Ron Jeremy has been charged with eight counts of sexual assault by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. The 67-year-old was arrested on June 23 and prosecutors recommended that bail be set at $6.6 million as the investigation into the abuse of four women continued.
- The charges against him are pretty disgusting. They include forcible rape, forcible penetration by a foreign object, forcible oral copulation, and sexual battery. He is accused of raping three women, aged 30, 33, and 46, at a bar in West Hollywood between 2017 and 2019 and also of raping another 25-year-old woman at a West Hollywood home in 2014.
- If found guilty of these sexual assaults, Ron Jeremy could spend the rest of his life in prison. In total, he’s looking at a sentence of up t0 90 years. While it seems unlikely he will receive that long behind bars, if he is indeed guilty of these crimes, that’s where he deserves to be.
- Jeremy previously denied allegations of sexual misconduct against him. He addressed similar claims back in 2017, telling Rolling Stone, “These allegations are pure lies or buyers’ remorse. I have never and would never rape anyone. All serious allegations have been investigated by police and dismissed by judges, as have most of the accusations of ‘groping.’ I have never been charged nor spent one day in court for any of this.” Looks like that’s about to change!
- The district attorney in charge of prosecution is the same one fighting against Harvey Weinstein. Deputy District Attorney Paul Thompson is handling the charges against Ron Jeremy and Weinstein, which has to go a little way in restoring even a slight bit of faith in law enforcement. What these men have done to women is disgusting and they deserve justice. No more allowing them to walk around with impunity. Bring them to court and if they’re found guilty, lock them up where they belong.
