Florida Woman Sues Chick-Fil-A Claiming Black Chicken Nugget Made Her Sick And Damaged Her Stomach Ninth Judicial Circle

A Florida woman is suing Chick-Fil-A for $50,000 claiming that the fast food joint served her a black chicken nugget that made her so violently ill that she had “no strength left” to throw up any further. Shi’terra Sharp, 29, ordered her nugs from the restaurant in Brooksville and had already eaten a few pieces before noticing that at least one piece was “black in color.” That’s when she became ill, per The Daily Mail.

  1. After Sharp ate the so-called black chicken, her digestive system reacted. According to legal documents, she “became violently ill, was nauseated, vomited until (she) had no strength left to do so, suffered from cramping, nausea and diarrhea, and sustained great injury to her mouth, throat, stomach and digestive system.” Yikes!
  2. Now, Shi-Terra Sharp wants $50,000 for her troubles. She claims Chick-Fil-A was negligent in serving her the black nugget, and that she went through so much distress that she had to get medical help. Sharp “sought treatment for her constant unrelenting abdominal pain and cramping, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, including, but not limited to hospital admissions at which time she was diagnosed with gastrointestinal illnesses.”
  3. Holland Hospitality is being sued for four counts of negligence. Sharp is accusing the establishment of failing to inspect and make sure the food was safe, failing to supervise employees while preparing food, offering food that should never have been consumed, and not preventing Sharp’s experience as a whole.
  4. Chick-Fil-A has faced plenty of lawsuits over the years. In fact, they’ve had two major controversies in 2023 alone. In February, a woman in North Carolina called for an employee to be fired after her daughter was handed items with her name written as a racial slur. More recently, the company just settled a $4.4 million case over hiking online orders to make up for charging customers less for delivery.
