Unlucky Texas Woman Discovers Her Car Frozen In A Solid Block Of Ice After Pipe Above It Burst

The difficulties Texans have been experiencing with the recent cold snap are horrendous. No electricity, no fresh water (or any running water at all), freezing cold temperatures with no heating – things are not going well there. The unprecedented low temperatures have caused serious problems for the state’s infrastructure, which was woefully unprepared for such a drastic drop, and its residents are suffering because of it. In fact, one unlucky woman even discovered her car frozen in a solid block of ice after a pipe above it in a parking lot burst.

  1. Kiana Vance from Dallas was devastated. Documenting her discovery in a now-viral TikTok video, Kiana lamented that out of the entire multi-story parking lot, which has seven levels that looked all but deserted at the time of her video, she happened to park just under a pipe that burst. This was more than a little bad luck – it almost seemed personal!
  2. Thankfully, this wasn’t Kiana’s only car. Talking to Buzzfeed, Kiana revealed that she parked the vehicle on the top level of the garage because she got a new car. However, that doesn’t mean she was any less shocked and upset when it froze solid! “Before the ice storm, I parked this car on the top level of my apartment parking garage and stopped driving it because I got a new car,” she explained. “Little did I know, the pipe above the car burst right when the storm hit — and nobody told me that it was leaking on my car.”
  3. She only found out about the situation when she saw it on the news. Because she wasn’t driving it regularly, it wasn’t until a local news station picked up the story that she realized the state her car was in on the top level of the garage. “I found out about it when I saw it on the news because I have been driving my other car that’s located on a different floor of the garage. It’s still frozen. I’m going to just wait for it to thaw out before doing anything that might damage the car more,” she said.
  4. She’s glad people see the funny side as it’s softened the blow for her too. The video’s unexpected success on TikTok has allowed Kiana to feel slightly less stressed about the situation. “I was shocked when my TikTok videos got as big as they did. I definitely wasn’t expecting that to happen! A lot of jokes and memes have come out of it, but I’m happy that my car — as completely screwed as it is — could make people laugh,” Kiana said. “I guess the one thing I’ll say is…I’m never parking under a pipe ever again.”
  5. Thankfully, it’s already starting to thaw. While there’s still a long way to go before Kiana’s car is completely ice-free, a fair amount has already started to melt and Kiana is keeping everyone updated on TikTok of the progress. Not only that, but people seem to be traveling from across the country to come see it. After all, it’s not very often you see a car frozen solid!
