Woman Gags After Raiding Grandma’s Pantry And Making Horrific Discoveries

It’s almost a bit cliche at this point, but that’s because it’s true: Old people love to hoard food well past its sell-by date, and many could go into their kitchen cupboards and find something that probably expired at least a decade ago. It could be a byproduct of having gone through World War II and the Depression, but either way, it’s definitely a Thing. That’s why a woman named Karinne, who posts on TikTok as @monogamy96, decided to have a look in her grandma’s pantry to see what treasures she could find. Sadly, she wasn’t prepared for many of the gag-inducing discoveries she would make.

  1. Karinne came across some pretty innocuous items. They included a box of cherry cheesecake that expired in 2000 and some Pilsbury Creamy Supreme cream cheese-flavored frosting from 2014. That’s pretty bad, but given that the packages were sealed, it was no biggie.
  2. Then came the jars. While sealed boxes and bags that expired a decade or more ago are a problem, it’s the jars you have to be wary of. Karinne came across one such jar that was labeled simply “Pears Sept 1999.” That’s when things took a turn for the worse.
  3. She couldn’t help herself — she had to take the lid off and give them a smell. As you can probably imagine, the 24-year-old peaches packed a pungent punch, and it wasn’t long before Karinne was literally gagging. “This is insane, these are pears from 1999 that was canned. This smells like death,” she says in the clip. Given that the fruit inside doesn’t even look like pears, it’s unclear what she was expecting!
  4. In a second video, she found another jar. The issue is, that one wasn’t labeled with either the contents or the date. It seems, however, that Karinne learned her lesson the first time and didn’t open this one — at least not on camera. Let’s hope she did her grandma a solid by throwing all of this out!
