40% Of People Would Have Sex With A Robot, Survey Reveals

It’s perhaps a bit obvious to say that dating is hard and finding a strong connection with someone feels almost impossible at times. Perhaps that’s why 40% of people surveyed as part of a new study say that they would consider having sex with a robot. That might seem like a pretty high amount, but that’s not the most surprising result of the study.

  1. The research was performed by the chatbot Tidio. The company commissioned the study of 1,200 people to get their view of the future and how technology plays into it. As part of the survey, participants revealed their fears and concerns about technology as well as their hopes for how it might improve their lives.
  2. Many worried about being replaced in their careers. Of the 1,200 participants, 69% of college graduates said that they were worried that artificial intelligence might steal their jobs or make it so that their job doesn’t even exist anymore. Cashiers, drivers, and translators were the ones who expressed the most anxiety about it.
  3. Many participants were hopeful about how AI could improve their lives. About 45% said they believed AI would be able to make improvements in the economy, the air traffic control sector, and even on the roads when there’s traffic.
  4. Having sex with a robot didn’t put as many people off as you’d like. More than 40% of the participants said they were into the idea of having sex with a robot, so long as it was humanoid. While 3% of people said they’d only do it once, 39% believe they could possibly form a long-term relationship with a robot. Go figure!
