Your zodiac sign can influence a number of things about your personality, and that includes your approach to dating and relationships. Sure, the stars don’t dictate everything, but they can shed some light on certain behavioral patterns we’re likely not even aware of. When it comes to a breakup, you might be surprised at how much your star sign can affect you. Here’s how you deal with a breakup according to your zodiac sign.
- Pisces. As the most sensitive sign of the zodiac, Pisceans tend to lose it when someone they care about breaks up with them. They get into a major funk, lash out at others, and can sometimes become self-destructive. Breakups hurt sensitive Pisces, often to the point that they can’t function. They also take longer than almost any other star sign to overcome a breakup. If you’re a friend to a Pisces going through a breakup, please be kind and patient with the little Fish. They need love and affection right now.
- Cancer. Another sensitive sign, Cancers really do have deep feelings during certain stages of the breakup. However, unlike Pisces, who tend to make a theatrical display of their emotions, Cancers will bottle it up and only let it out in private. Outwardly, these Crabs will show a hard exterior and will act stoic, stubborn, and at times, aloof. Don’t be fooled, though. They do suffer — especially when the reality of the breakup sinks in. Unfortunately, Cancer’s nature to drive away those they love may make reconciliation impossible in many cases.
- Taurus. Tauruses are a good example of “still waters run deep.” They often struggle with conflicting emotions during major breakups, and none of these emotions are shallow. They’ll hate your guts for breaking their hearts, but deep down, they’ll be desperately wishing for reconciliation. It’s important to note that the window for reconciliation only stays open for so long with Bulls. Once they’re over you, they’re done and will want nothing to do with you.
- Virgo. Virgins are the type of dates who will cut their losses rather quickly, but if they’ve invested time with you, they’ll try to make things work whenever possible. During a breakup, Virgos are going to be more concerned about how the breakup may affect others in their circle. In other words, they are some of the most drama-free people you’ll ever see when they’re undergoing a breakup. You go, Virgo!
- Leo. In breakups, a Leo’s ego quickly becomes their #1 priority. They might go for a full makeover just to strut their stuff in front of an ex. This star sign is often too proud to admit wrongdoing, and this may even be the reason why they were broken up with in the first place. Even when they’re in the wrong, Leos will want to get an apology. Keeping their Lion-like confidence strong, Leos assume that their exes will eventually come back — and they tend to be right about that. Leos, if cheated on, are very prone to revenge sex.
- Aries. Rams are super adventurous in their relationships and that same “livewire” spark that makes them so exciting as lovers also can make them slightly nuts during a breakup. If you bored a Ram, then you have nothing to worry about. They’ve already likely moved on to more thrilling pastures. - Aquarius. Aquarians tend to dislike confrontation at all costs, even during a breakup. This can lead to them doing some pretty manipulative stuff, including goading you into doing the dirty work of breaking up for them. If they are really done with the relationship, they might also end up cheating as a way to find greener pastures before the “exit interview.”
- Capricorn. For Capricorns, breaking up is a major no-no. They want to see families stick together unless the person they’re dating is a serious jerk. Goats may stubbornly pursue ways to talk things out, even if it’s somewhat fruitless in nature. However, if their partner decides to cheat or abuse them, Capricorns will cut them out in an instant. Because of their very down-to-earth, balanced outlook, they’re also the most likely to focus on finances and logistics during a breakup.
- Libra. The number one focus for Libras during a breakup is balance. They want to make sure that everything is done fairly, and they’ll also want to drive away potential drama with almost politician-level tact online. The Scales usually will see a breakup as a learning experience, and/or a failure of a social contract. To a point, Libras almost have a legalistic view of breakups. - Gemini. The Twins have a very dual nature during a breakup. Though this sign is infamous for being free-spirited and disliking serious relationships, not all breakups come easy for Gemini. You’d never be able to tell, though, since most Gemini will grin through it in hopes that no one will see them cry. - Scorpio. When a Scorpio really loves someone, it’s almost an all-consuming passion. However, this sign is also famous for never making their emotions known in public, even more so than Cancers or Tauruses. What this means is that Scorpios tend to totally clam up around those who broke up with them. They may come up with sneaky ways to get revenge on their exes — or, in the case of infidelity or perceived infidelity, the people who are now dating their exes. In many cases, Scorpios never completely get over an ex. Be careful, passionate Scorpios might explode with anger if the breakup becomes too much to handle!
- Sagittarius. Sagittarius signs very rarely go in “for the long haul” in relationships, but when they do, they go in full force. Unfortunately for them, this makes breakups particularly bad. They’ll often go through a rebound sex spree as a way to cope, or engage in reckless behavior. If it was a light fling, Sagittarius will almost never mourn it.
