A Florida woman was arrested after she allegedly attacked her 64-year-old boyfriend with “soiled dog pads” and Windex glass cleaner. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by The Smoking Gun, Ann Walsh, 60, lashed out at Wayne Drost at their Clearwater apartment during a late-night argument on May 24. While it’s unclear what led to the altercation, it ended with Walsh being booked into the county jail.
- The victim was sitting on the couch when he was attacked. According to reports, Drost was sitting on the couch of the couple’s shared apartment when Walsh threw “soiled dog pads” at him and sprayed him in the face with Windex.
- Thankfully, Drost was unharmed. While he suffered no injuries or long-lasting damage, it’s worth noting that Windex contains chemicals that could be harmful if swallowed or that could irritate the eyes if it got in them. That amplifies the seriousness of what Walsh did.
- Walsh admitted everything. When Clearwater Police arrived, Walsh fully admitted to spraying Drost in the face with Windex. Officers were unsure whether she had taken drugs or drank alcohol prior to the attack, but she was arrested anyway and charged with a misdemeanor.
- If convicted, she could spend serious time behind bars. While police ordered Walsh to have no contact with Drost following the arrest, she could still face up to a year in jail, a year of probation, and a $1,000 fine if found guilty of assault in court. She could also be sentenced to community service hours and lose the right to carry a weapon (which is probably a good thing, truth be told).
- This isn’t Walsh’s first domestic violence case. She’s listed on the National Violent Offender & Domestic Violence Registry for having committed domestic violence in the past. All of her previous allegations are said to have involved in the same victim, though Walsh ultimately wasn’t convicted.
