Texting Your Crush vs. Texting Your Long-Term Boyfriend

Texting has become a huge part of modern relationships. However, there are way too many dos and don’ts that women are expected to follow. Even though those “rules” might seem important at the beginning stages of your relationship, you’ll forget all about them once you’re in a serious relationship. Here’s the difference between texting your crush and texting your long-term boyfriend:

  1. You won’t double text your crush. Meanwhile, you won’t have any problem texting your long-term boyfriend two or three or ten times in a row. If you have something to say to him, you aren’t going to hold yourself back due to some ridiculous dating rule.
  2. You’ll try to decipher your crush’s words. Meanwhile, when you’re in a long-term relationship, you won’t waste time trying to figure out the hidden meaning of a certain text. You’ll just ask him what the hell he meant, and he’ll tell you.
  3. You’ll send sexy pictures to your crush. But once he becomes your boyfriend, you’ll simply send photos of yourself making weird faces at the camera. You know you look hiddeous in them, but that’s the point.
  4. You’ll wait for your crush to text first.Meanwhile, you won’t mind texting your boyfriend first thing in the morning. In fact, sometimes he’ll use you as his alarm clock, which means he won’t even wake up until he hears his cell beeping.
  5. You’ll use emojis to flirt with your crush. But once he becomes your boyfriend, you’ll stop using the winking emoji and replace it with the poop emoji. You might even send your boyfriend a series of emojis without context, and he’ll still know what you’re talking about, because he knows your twisted mind so well.
  6. You’ll use perfect grammar with your crush. After all, you want him to know that you’re an educated young lady. Of course, once you two start dating, you’ll start shortening your words and using the “text speak” you used to claim you hated.
  7. You’ll spend an hour creating a text for your crush. But when you send messages to your boyfriend, you won’t even take the two seconds to reread them to check for errors. He’ll know what you mean.
  8. Your friends will help you text your crush. You’ll let your friends read every message your crush sends you so they can help you think of a perfect response. Of course, when you’re in a long-term relationship, your friends won’t even understand the conversation if they tried to read it, because you two have your own language.
  9. You’ll lie to your crush to sound interesting. You might act like you’re out at a party, having the time of your life, in order to impress your crush. But when your boyfriend asks you what you’ve been doing, you won’t be embarrassed to admit you’re still in your pajamas at noon watching Netflix.
  10. You’ll cry when your crush doesn’t respond.Meanwhile, if your boyfriend doesn’t reply right away, you’ll assume that he’s busy or that he’s fallen asleep. Either way, you’re okay with it, because you know the slow reply doesn’t mean he loves you any less.
