Woman Slams Adults Who Still Use Backpacks And People Aren’t Having It

A woman on TikTok has gone viral for claiming that adults who still use backpacks aren’t doing well in life. User Keren Margolis (@kerenmargolis) captioned the video “no shade,” but her bizarre and nonsensical rant is clearly ALL shade. Needless to say, people aren’t really feeling it.

“This is no shade, but if you’re an adult wearing a backpack, you’re not doing good,” she says in the clip while walking down the street. “Like I’m sure you’re hustling, I’m sure you’re on your grind, but you’re not, like, crushing it.”

She added: “Nobody sees an adult with all their belongings strapped to their body and goes, ‘Yeah, that’s the sign of extreme wealth.’”

Soon after posting, people took to the comments section to basically be like, “WTF?” Because honestly… People have weird opinions on all kinds of things, but is this really even an issue? Why does it matter what kind of bag people use to carry their stuff around? Frankly, I find it much easier to fit more stuff in a backpack and it’s easier to take with me when I’m doing a lot of walking/traveling. What’s so hard to understand about that?

“Wearing a backpack distributes weight evenly on both shoulders so they’re gonna be more symmetrical and proportional,” one TikTok commenter pointed out.

Others pointed out that Keren herself clearly isn’t “crushing it” since she felt the need to make a video like this in the first place. “People who are crushing it don’t have time to criticize others,” one noted. Another said, “To me, nothing says ‘not crushing it’ like worrying about what other people are doing.”

Another user pointed out that backpacks have nothing to do with personal finances, writing, “Come to Silicon Valley where engineers that make $300k+ a year wear backpacks.”

Sorry, Keren, everyone may be entitled to their opinions, but this is an objectively bad one. I’m off to shop for new adult backpacks!
