A Washington State woman decided to throw her husband a surprise vasectomy party to celebrate his decision to have the snip. Kimberly Hemperly and her husband already have two children together but believe their family is now complete, so her husband Jason decided to step up to the plate and be the one to undergo the procedure to make it (pretty much) impossible for them to have kids. Why wouldn’t you throw a party for that?
- Kimberly had been through two rough pregnancies and deliveries. “I really just wanted to show my support and appreciation to my husband for doing what he did, because not many men offer to go under the knife,” she told Bored Panda of her decision to throw the party. “The procedure is much harder for the woman, and since I’ve had 2 C-sections with rough recoveries, he ‘took one for the team.’ It’s pretty cool of him to do something like this for me.”
- The party was all about genitals. You have to have a sense of humor about things like this, which is why Kimberly went to great lengths to include jokes about Jason’s manhood throughout the party. In addition to a commemorative vasectomy cake, she also included snacks such as meatballs, sausages, bananas, and more. Hilarious! Kimberly even had t-shirts made for the occasion!
- Their kids have no idea what’s going on, of course. The couple’s daughters are pretty young, so they had no idea what the party was for. However, it’ll be a great topic to discuss when they’re older! “Our daughter doesn’t really understand what’s going on, I’m sure this will make for a great story when they’re both older,” Kimberly explained. “Since the post went viral I’d say the majority of the feedback has been positive. A lot of people found the humor in the story, which is why I shared it to begin with.”
- The response has been incredibly positive. As Kimberly mentioned, the post went viral pretty immediately when she shared it to her Facebook page, and she was amused to see just how many couples found it as hilarious as she and Jason did and wish they’d done the same! The post now has more than 84,000 likes and 42,000 comments. It’s easy to see why – this is great!
