Woman In Wheelchair After Large Breasts Caused Her Spine To Collapse

A former triathlete is now confined to a wheelchair much of the time after her large breasts caused her spine to collapse. Debbie Horton, 26 and from Warwickshire in the UK, wears a size 42 I bra and has already undergone several surgeries to help her walk again, but now she’s desperate for a breast reduction to help improve her quality of life.

  1. She lives with pain every day. If you’ve been blessed in the chest so to speak, you can probably understand a slight bit of what Debbie is going through. Being larger up top, especially when the rest of your body is relatively small or even average, can be really painful. She’s experiencing this pain to an extreme degree. “The weight of my [chest] is constantly pulling down and it causes so much pain. I live with pain every day. I really believe that having the breast reduction surgery would completely change my life – it would reduce the pain as I won’t have the weight pulling me down. I think they must weigh a couple of stone each,” she explained. “I can learn to get my spine back into the position it should be in – my [chest] could have caused this whole problem. I’ve spoken to my doctor about getting it on the NHS but it’s such a strict criteria.”
  2. Debbie was always extremely into fitness. She’s a former triathlete and fitness fanatic whose large chest has played a massive role in her decline. She’s suffered over the past four years from a combination of degenerative disc disease in her spine, fibromyalgia, prolapsed discs spondylitis, and kyphosis of the neck. Now, she needs a wheelchair and crutches just to get around.
  3. The problems first began in 2016. She was working a shift at a local supermarket when she bent over to pick something up and put her back out. She was immediately rushed to a local hospital and things went downhill from there. “They found out that my spine was curved which could have been something I was born with – they’re not sure,” she recalled. “I had to take two months off work and everything went downhill from there. The pain was horrendous and now I live with it every day – it really makes you realize how much you need your back.”
  4. Despite surgery, she’s still struggling to walk. In November 2019, Debbie underwent a disc discectomy, disc laminectomy, and spinal proctorial lumber. However, that hasn’t helped and she’s certain that only a breast reduction can at this point. However, it’s an expensive procedure that she doesn’t have the money for.
  5. Debbie has launched a GoFundMe to get her breast reduction surgery. If you want to donate, you can do so HERE.
