Anyone who knows me knows I love a charcuterie board. I also love Halloween, so any opportunity to combine the two is one I’ll always take. Case in point? “Deli skelly” boards, which places spooky skeletons at the center of a board and buries them at the center of massive piles of tasty snacks. What’s not to love about this?
- It’s the easiest way to make your charcuterie board seasonal. The best thing about making a deli skelly is that you literally only have to make one small change — putting a skeleton/skeleton figurine at the center of your board — before building your snacks around it as normal. Not only does it not take much special preparation, but it turns your board into a Halloween dream (or nightmare if you prefer it scary).
- You can fill them with whatever you want. Whether you’re going for something traditional full of crackers, meats, and fruits or you’re interested in going the sweet route with lots of yummy candy and other treats, you can make your deli skelly your own.
- If you want to get really creepy, you can even fill the skeleton’s ribs. Depending on what kind of skeleton toy you get for your board, it might even be hollow, meaning it’s perfect for filling with lots of yummy goodies, like some kind of macabre cornucopia. How awesome is that?!
