Netflix Confirms ‘Ratched’ For Season 2 And Fans Are Thrilled Netflix

Netflix has confirmed that Ratched has already been renewed for Season 2 despite only having premiered less than a week ago. The Sarah Paulson-led series, which also stars the likes of Judy Davis, Sharon Stone, Cynthia Nixon, Finn Wittrock, and Jon Jon Briones, is based on the character of Nurse Mildred Ratched from One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest and has become an immediate hit with fans.

  1. This show is so good. If you haven’t already watched it, you really should. While it’s definitely creepy and very slightly gory in small parts, it’s more of a thriller than a true horror, so you don’t have to worry about ghosts or freaky jump-shots meant to make you jump out of your skin. Instead, the scary stuff here is much subtler and while Ratched is certainly twisted, it’s a fantastic watch.
  2. To be fair, the renewal happened before Season 1 premiered. Netflix committed to Season 2 of Ratched before the show even began production on the first. This is likely because of Ryan Murphy’s pitch to the network, which will have included an outline of the stories he wanted to tell. Therefore, this isn’t really a renewal so much as a confirmation that the streaming service made a pretty good decision.
  3. Sadly, it’s likely Season 2 is still a long time away. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, TV shows and movies have had to halt or postpone production in order to ensure safety of cast and crew. That means that work on Ratched‘s second season hasn’t begun yet and likely won’t for a little while. It might be a wait for new episodes but something tells me it’ll be worth it when they do come out.
  4. That means you still have time to catch up on (or watch) Season 1. Seriously, you won’t regret it. Ratched has been called one of the best shows of 2020 and personally, I agree!
