Ohio Woman Calls Police Over Suspiciously-Shaped Meat Bought From Local Store

An Ohio woman called police in to investigate suspiciously shaped meat she bought from a local grocery store. Lamia Smith believed she purchased smoked turkey tails from Save-a-Lot but was disturbed when she opened the package to find a large chunk of meat that looked a whole lot like a penis. Yikes!

  1. She revealed the findings on Facebook Live. As Smith was in her kitchen cooking, she was shocked to discover the phallic-shaped hunk of meat and immediately decided to call the cops. “I’m calling Save A Lot, this ain’t right,” she said. “I know what this is. It’s got the folds. … Upon further investigation, there’s a hole at the tip.” Oh no!!
  2. She hadn’t actually bought turkey tails at all. Instead, the packaging claimed that what it contained was smoked pork tails. Still, no pig’s tail looks quite like male genitalia, so she called the police in to investigate. “I called the police because I examined it and it is what it is,” she said in a follow-up video.
  3. The police said it was actually a penis! “The police came and they examined it, and it is, in fact, a penis,” Lamia revealed. “They are calling the medical examiner out here right now, and the coroner, because somebody is missing they stuff. Save A Lot has got some explaining to do.”
  4. In the end, it was a false alarm. Lamia would have been pleased to know that the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the meat in question was indeed pork, albeit rather unfortunately shaped. The meat contained a bone and it really was likely a pig’s tail.
  5. Save-a-Lot even released a statement on the incident. “At Save A Lot we have a long-held commitment to the highest standards in quality control and work in partnership with our vendors to ensure those standards are upheld,” a rep said. “Issues of quality receive the utmost priority and we take this matter very seriously. We can confirm that we have had no previous quality issues with this item and we have not been contacted by the customer in question or the local authorities regarding this incident. We will take the appropriate action at that time.”
  6. However, Lamia has still hired a lawyer over the issue. As she says, “It looks nothing like the other meat in the package.”
