Taylor Swift Fans Are Pissed At Joe Alwyn For A Ridiculous Reason

It’s only been just over a week since the news broke that Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn broke up after six years together. And while many Swifties’ hearts are broken, others are downright furious at their idol’s ex. And while you might think he’s done something horrible like cheating on the “Lavender Haze” singer or dumping her out of the blue, the reason for fans’ ire is something much more ridiculous. That’s right: Joe Alwyn dared to ride a scooter.

  1. Scooter, you know. As in Scooter Braun? As you’re probably well aware by now, Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun do not get along. That’s because Taylor wanted to buy the rights to all of her old music so she could own her own creations. However, Braun swooped in and bought it first, then refused to sell it to her. As such, the pair have remained at loggerheads for years. Braun, who manages the likes of Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato, has a very different version of events than Swift. Nevertheless, Swift still doesn’t have her old masters and Braun does. For Swifties, Braun might as well be the devil incarnate.
  2. So what actually happened? Joe Alwyn is currently shooting a movie called “The Brutalist” with Emma Laird, who posted a bunch of photos on April 18 from the set. Not only did Swifties get up in arms about Laird and her possible involvement in the breakup (of which there is literally zero proof). However, there soon was an even bigger problem. In one of the photos on Laird’s account, Alwyn dared to pose with a lime green scooter. Sacre bleu!
  3. Swifties f**king lost it. While it’s understandable that Taylor Swift fans would be less than fond of Scooter Braun, getting mad at Joe Alwyn because he was in a photo with a scooter seems absolutely mental. It’s not a secretly coded message meant to infuriate or humiliate Swift. I can pretty much guarantee that he didn’t even think of the connection because that’s some toxic stan shit that no well-adjusted person would ever consider.
  4. But wait, it gets worse. The same Swifties ready to poke a few pins into their Joe Alwyn voodoo dolls noticed something else. Back in January 2023, Emma Laird (home wrecker that she is… in the minds of nuts) posed with a scooter, too. It’s a conspiracy!!
  5. Thankfully, there are some well-adjusted Taylor Swift fans out there. “Leave this woman alone. You’re giving us a bad reputation. Taylor would be embarrassed if she saw your comments,” one fan wrote on Laird’s Instagram. “Came here as a Swifty, just wanted to send you love and let you know we’re not all so unhinged. You’re incredibly talented and can’t wait to see what your future holds,” another added. Thank goodness there are some people out there who can see the light of day.
