Toad Comes To Woman’s Patio Every Day For 3 Years, So She Builds Him A House

Animal lovers know how exciting it can be to see a repeat visitor at their homes. For instance, maybe you have a robin that comes to your garden every day or a stray cat that you leave milk out for on your porch when it comes by. A woman who posts on TikTok as @OwnedByPickle had a toad that came to her front patio every day for three years, and she grew to love the little creature so much that she eventually decide to build it its own house!

  1. She hit up the dollar store for a few basic items. What kind of things would a toad like in its home? The Caretaker, as she calls herself, wasn’t quite sure. However, she figured a paint tray would be a good base upon which to add some mulch, seedlings, and a dish filled with stones and water. The toad has its own private pool!!
  2. The toad did hit up the water dish. However, it didn’t appear to be interested in any of the other items that The Caretaker had put in its little estate. Fair enough!
  3. She decided to make some changes to make things appeal to the toad a bit more. She moved the seedlings to put a little pot of succulents in its space and also made a stone path and added some coconut fiber. That seemed to do the trick!
  4. The toad started bringing its toad friends around to visit! It loved its little home so much, it thought it would be a great place to bring some pals.
  5. The Caretaker had to make more changes once toading season came around. She wanted the toads to stay, so in order to make that more likely, she created a toadling hydration station, and the toad and its pals stuck aorund!
  6. She eventually even gave the toad a name. Well, more accurately, the toad named itself. The caretaker put some name choices on different Post-It notes and let the toad jump to which one it liked the best. Eventually, the toad became Doora.
  7. The Caretaker posts all of Doora’s adventures on TikTok. She regularly posts videos showing how the toad is getting on and what other toad friends it brings around its humble abode for a visit. Now, that’s the kind of content we can all get behind!

Yes, Toads will shed similar to a lizard. Yes, the caretaker had a panic attack the first time she witnessed it. Doora will be back to her normal self shortly hopefully! #fyp #doortoad #dooratoad #toadabode #toads #toadsoftiktok #toadtok #toad #patiowasteland #patio #oasis #toadgarden #toadhabitat #doora #toadlove
