If you’ve ever dreamed about joining your partner in holy matrimony while 30,000 feet in the air, you’re in luck. Air Charter Service, a private jet chartering service, is offering up a “Wedding in the Sky” package for couples who wish to say “I do” from the relative comfort of a plane. It costs $28,000, but hey, why not?
- It’s the ultimate form of social distancing. The coronavirus pandemic means that many weddings have been canceled or altered from the original vision the bride and groom likely had for their big day. However, taking to the sky to say “I do” is a whole other way to do social distancing.
- The $28,000 price tag includes a whole lot of perks. In addition to a private chauffeur to bring the couple to and from the airport, the “Wedding in the Sky” package also includes personalized wedding favors, flower arrangements, catered food and drink, champagne, canapes, and even a crew member to act as an officiant. Not only that, but the plane has enough room for up to 16 guests, so your closest family members and friends can climb on board, according to Travel + Leisure.
- It’s a good idea, I guess… “Sadly, many couples have had to abandon their original wedding plans due to COVID-19. At Air Charter Service, we wanted to offer a solution to enable our clients to still have their dream wedding celebrations,” said group private jets director Andy Christie in a statement. I’m sure there’s a market for this, so why not?
- There are other packages available as well. For instance, the “Just the Two of Us” package costs $18,000 and is perfect for the couple that just wants to elope. You can even splash out a little extra cash to fly over specific locales, if that’s your thing. “The flight route can be prearranged, so the aircraft can fly over areas of significance to those who are celebrating their marriage,” Christie explained.
