Reminder: You’re A Lot Stronger Than You Think

Maybe it seems like everything’s going wrong lately. You caught your boyfriend cheating, you lost your job, you have to move back in with your parents and adult acne just hit your face like the world’s worst bitch slap. How can you possibly deal with all this? It’s hard, but you can do it. We’re women. We’re built strong. No matter what’s going on in your life, you’re stronger than you think.

  1. You’ve loved and lost. Who hasn’t had their heart broken at some point? It hurt like hell, but look at you now. You moved on and you’re better than ever. If you can handle heartbreak, you can handle anything.
  2. You’ve boosted your friends. We all have bad days and we rely on our friends to boost us up when we’re down. It takes strength to let your own issues go and focus on someone else. I know it’s not usually called strength, but that’s what it is.
  3. You’re surviving on your own. I don’t care if you still live with your parents or you’re crashing with some friends, you’re still making it. You still get up every day and do what you have to to take care of yourself. Sometimes, that takes far more strength than any of us thought we had.
  4. You think differently than your parents. Every child grows up with different opinions than their parents. It’s not that we don’t love our parents, but we develop our own opinions over time. Disagreeing with your parents isn’t easy, especially if you’re really close to them.
  5. You’re OK being the odd one. When you’re the odd woman out, it’s hard. You’ll get made fun of, you won’t be the popular girl and people are going to try and change you. When you stay true to who you are no matter what, you’re showing just how strong you are.
  6. You’ve been put down countless times. I don’t care who you are, you’ve had to deal with people putting you down. You’ve survived every time. I used to have people make fun of me for doing well in school. Now I’m doing what I love and they’re struggling to even find a part time job. So be strong and things will turn out okay.
  7. You’ve failed and failed and failed some more. Yeah, real optimistic, huh? We all fail numerous times in our lives. Moving on from failure takes balls. Let’s just say women have the biggest balls of all. Besides, failure’s good for you. It pushes you to eventually succeed.
  8. You’re always capable of more. You may think you’re at your limit, but you’re always capable of being stronger. It’s just how we’re designed. Just when you think you can’t take anymore, you push through anyway.
  9. You bleed and don’t die. Seriously, how could I not include this? We bleed for a week every month. Any other creature would die. Enough said.
  10. You take on hormones and win. As if bleeding isn’t enough, we also make it through the hormonal battle field with only a few scrapes and bruises. The same can’t be said for whoever stands in our way.
  11. You’re your own worst enemy. Whatever your facing isn’t nearly as bad as yourself. You’re always going to be your worst enemy and biggest obstacle. Yet, you still manage to overcome yourself every day. That’s a pretty impressive show of strength.
  12. There’s really nothing you can’t do. We’ve overcome and constantly prove that there’s nothing that we can’t do. We know being strong is more than picking out what to wear. We take on the world each day and succeed over and over again.
