I don’t think I’m alone in admitting that my nerves are absolutely frayed at the moment. I’m in a constant state of high anxiety and verging on a panic attack because of everything that’s going on in the world, and being largely confined to my apartment doesn’t help. Something that does help, however, is tuning into this Bob Ross marathon that’s happening on Twitch right now. Trust me.

Bob Ross is known for his calm, even-keeled approach to paint, using his brush to make fluffy trees and clouds in what just might be the first public form of ASMR ever. In these times of high stress, this is exactly what we need in our lives. Watching The Joy of Painting is like a mini-meditation!

Bob Ross has been a big thing on Twitch since about 2015, according to Thrillist, but the latest marathon of all seasons of The Joy of Painting just started airing on Friday, March 20 at 12 p.m. EST. Thankfully, it’ll keep going “until further notice.”
- People are loving it! Last I checked, more than 2,700 people were watching Bob Ross work on a gorgeous snow scene showing a forest of pine trees on a winter’s day. His zen approach to his work is only compounded in marathon form and while I have other things to do, I’ve found it hard to stop watching! Clearly I’m not alone in this.

The service is free on mobile and desktop for users around the world, so if you’re feeling in need of a little relaxation, something to slow down the frantic thoughts in your head, I recommend watching whenever you get a chance.
