I’m a grown woman who’s been bombarded with all things Harry Potter for over a decade and I’m still not sick of it. While I wouldn’t say I’m obsessed with it or anything, I definitely love the books (and movies) deeply and enjoy everything to do with the wizarding series. I’ve done the studio tour in London, I’ve been to Universal Studios, and now I really want to visit this Harry Potter-themed spa in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
- It’s not officially affiliated with J.K. Rowling’s series. While the Wand & Willow Day Spa takes so much inspiration from Harry Potter, it’s not an official HP location or anything. That being said, owner, esthetician, and massage therapist Wendy Piedad wanted to “create a space where clients can experience professional spa treatments and to bring a little magic into their lives” and thought including HP-themed elements would take that to the next level.
- There’s so much cool stuff here! While Piedad didn’t get too heavy-handed with the Harry Potter memorabilia so as not to alienate other potential clients who might not be fans, there are some pretty cool touches around the spa, from potion bottles to magical creature figurines and even a portait of the Fat Lady!
- It’s not just Harry Potter the spa is paying homage to. There are other elements taken from films like Practical Magic and Bewitched, the Wand & Willow website reveals. Nevertheless, much of her clientele is obviously drawn to the business because they’re fans of The Boy Who Lived. “Visitors to the spa are enchanted when they enter and love seeing all of the subtle magical-themed decor,” Piedad told Insider. “It is both elegant yet whimsical. I enjoy seeing them glancing around the treatment rooms looking at the magical creatures, floating candles, potions bottles, and cauldrons.”
- The treatment names are Harry Potter themed as well! For instance, you can book a Maurader package, which includes a 30-minute facial as well as a massage, while the Phoenix package gets you an hour-long massage, facial, and body wrap. I’m sold!
