Former adult film star Mia Khalifa has decided to auction off her infamous glasses in an effort to raise some serious cash for the Lebanese Red Cross and victims of the Beirut explosion. The disaster has killed more than 200 people and injured thousands while leaving many others without homes or businesses. Needless to say, the auction is going pretty well so far.

- Khalifa has been trying to raise awareness of the aftermath on social media. Not only did she encourage followers to share photos of missing people and details of hotels that would accept those who’d lost their homes, but she also encouraged people to donate blood and money if they were able to.
- Mia Khalifa’s glasses are a large part of her brand. She’s been wearing them for years and they feature heavily in photos she posts online as well as in her infamous adult films. However, she’s happy to part with them if it means raising funds for the Lebanese Red Cross and “their tireless efforts in Beirut.”
- It’s a creative idea for sure – and effective, it seems! “I’m just trying to get creative, there’s always more that can be done and this felt like a cheeky way to raise funds and make sure the conversation and attention doesn’t diverge from this crisis,” she said of her decision to sell the glasses. She added, “Creeps are welcome, your money is just as green as ours!”
- Every time the bids hit a milestone, she’s been adding in extras. For every $25,000 milestone that is passed on the auction, Mia Khalifa is upping the prizes from just her glasses to include items such as a used razor, a loofah, and a retainer. She added that she’s “not above adding [her] bathwater,” though it remains to be seen what the next perk will be.
- At the time of writing, the bidding is nearly at $100,000. “Condition is: Used & Abused,” she wrote in the listing description. “The novelty glasses are the best prop, I will sign them (if you want), and take one last polaroid wearing them before sending them off to their new home!!!”
