These Bodybuilding Bears Made Out Of Bread Are The Cutest Carbs Ever

When I think of carbs, “cute” isn’t generally a descriptor that comes to mind. I think delicious, yummy, tasty, you get the picture. However, a Japanese bakery called Konel Bread has made bodybuilding bear breads that are downright adorable, almost to the point that you don’t want to eat them. I mean, I still would, but I’m just saying.

  1. These bodybuilding bears are so… buff! I know there’s a lot of alliteration going on here, but these breads are just too bloody brilliant not to discuss. (See what I did there?) Not only would you never expect to see a bear with six-pack abs, you definitely wouldn’t expect to see it in bread form.
  2. They were made by one talented baker. The amazing baker behind the batch (I can’t stop!) is Ran of Konel Bread in Japan. As evidenced by Ran’s social media pages, creating intricate works of art out of all things gluten seems to be a specialty they have mastered. Ran’s work is super clever, creative, and detailed.
  3. Technically speaking, the abs can be separate buns! As per the translated Instagram post of some of the bodybuilding bears, the bread’s six abs could theoretically be pulled apart and enjoyed separately. “Hugging bear pan muscle muscles muscular version …The abdominal muscles split into six can be torn like a bun.”
  4. If bears aren’t your thing, Ran does bodybuilding bunnies too! Seriously, bread’s delicious but usually not all that fun. This is an exception to the rule! Why shouldn’t you enjoy your food while you eat it? And hey, if you can’t make it to Japan to buy some of this yourself, you can maybe buff up (go with it) on your own baking skills and create some yourself! It might take a while until you get there, but it’s worth the delicious effort.
